Fly Stitch Leaves, and my Petunias

On the Stitch Fun series going at Mary Corbet's http://www.needlenthread.com/   she shows how to make some cute leaves with Fly stitches.

I made my little vine out of 2 strands DMC floss in back stitch, and the leaves are Fly stitch.

These are some of my petunias. I had some growing in pots last year, and this year these came up on their own. A nice surprise.

I'm still figuring out blogging. A couple of my friends said they were unable to post a comment. I'm going through all my settings to see why and hope to have it fixed soon.

Thanks for dropping by. Smiles to you. Linda

Another Butterfly takes flight

This is my Work in progress which I forgot to post last night. I started this quilt a few years back. (okay - more than a few years) Anyway when I saw "WIP Wednesdays" on Pintangle I dug out my butterfly's in hopes to finally finish it. Still got a long way to go.
These are the others I got done, before it sort of got forgotten.

Sorry that some of the pics are a little fuzzy - and that last one somehow got on there 2 times and I can't figure out how to get it off.
Each block is 12" by 12" and the finished quilt should fit a double bed. So I go a lot of butterfly's cut out and ready to be sewed onto the blocks. And then they took a looooonnnnggggg nap.
Thanks for dropping by. Smiles to you. Linda

Been reading

I got "Treasury of Crazy Quilt Stitches" by Carole Samples at the library and have been absorbed in that for a couple days. Now I have even more stitches in my head that I want to do.
I am also taking a class on line, but I don't think I can show any pics of that while it is in progress. But I'll show pics of it finished when I get it finished.
I took a short walk with Gizzlefig (my cat) this morning before it got too hot. He walks on a lead because we live in town and I don't want him hurt by a car. We used to walk about 5 or 6 blocks to the nursing home, where people would make a fuss over him and give him lots of petting. The nursing home moved across town a few years ago and it's too far to walk now. But we walk around the neighborhood a few times a week and look at all the flowers and say hi to our neighbors.
Smiles to you, and thanks for stopping by. Linda

Needle Books

Made a needle book for a friend. I was playing around with some stitches I saw on Take a Stitch Tuesday posts on different blogs. ( TAST at pintangle )  My camera talent really must improve. The blue flowers are lazy daisy stitches tacked down with bullion knots. The red flowers are fly stitches. I have big plans for this blog so I hope you keep dropping in. It will grow and get better. I'm improving - it did not take me 3 hours to post a picture today.

This is my needle book. I Made it about a year ago and use it a lot. And my needles inside. Got lots of sizes for lots of jobs.
To help me tell the cross stitch needles from the sharp ones at a glance - the cross stitch needles are gold, the others are silver.

Smiles to you. Linda

Figuring out how to blog

I'm working at figuring out this blog thing. Mean while, as I explore and hit all the wrong buttons, here is a few pics of some of what I been up to lately.
This is the doll house I am wrking on. . .

This is my cat "Gizzlefig". .

I been playing with the stencils I got from Sharo B over at Pin Tangle. .

.

My name is done in a chain stitch with a blanket stitch next to the chain in darker color. When I get this done it will be a project bag. That's about it for today. Smiles to you and happy stitching. Lady Cobblestone :)
